Aiken Regional ER at Sweetwater Groundbreaking

Aiken Regional Holds Groundbreaking Ceremony for Future Freestanding Emergency Department

Aiken Regional Medical Centers held a groundbreaking ceremony to kick off the construction of its new freestanding emergency department — ER at Sweetwater. When opened in Summer 2022, the ER at Sweetwater will be a full-service emergency department that will expand access to emergency care in Aiken and surrounding counties. The new ER at Sweetwater will provide emergency care 24-hours a day, seven days a week for all ages.

Manatee Memorial Hospital Hosts Groundbreaking Ceremony for New Freestanding Emergency Room in Hillsborough County

Manatee Memorial Hospital hosted a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a new freestanding emergency room, which will expand access to emergency care in Hillsborough County. The 10,884-square-foot full-service emergency room will provide emergency care 24-hours a day, seven days a week and features six exam rooms, three rapid medical exam spaces, 12 treatment areas, full-service laboratory, X-ray, CT, and ultrasound. The new facility is expected to open second quarter 2022.

Northern Nevada Medical Center Breaks Ground on ER at Spanish Springs

Northern Nevada Medical Center (NNMC) is expanding its footprint in Sparks to meet the demand for accessible healthcare. The hospital held a groundbreaking for its second freestanding emergency department (FED) in Spanish Springs. The 10,600-square-foot facility will feature multiple treatment rooms, including fast-track exam rooms designed to efficiently triage low severity patients, imaging services including CT, X-Ray, ultrasound and lab draws. The FED is scheduled to open early fall 2022.

Southwest Health System Groundbreaking

Southwest Healthcare Breaks Ground on Rancho Springs Campus and Inland Valley Campus Expansion and Renovation

Southwest Healthcare System’s Rancho Springs Medical Center Campus in Murrieta and Inland Valley Medical Center Campus in Wildomar broke ground today on significant expansion and renovation plans. The expansion and renovation at Rancho Springs will focus on Women’s and Children’s Services, the Emergency Department, and other key clinical offerings such as the health system’s Robotics program. Inland Valley will feature a seven-story tower with a continuation of award-winning services of bariatric weight-loss surgery, the total joint program for hip, knee and shoulder replacement, as well as surgical services for spine and the region’s only Level II American College of Surgeons (ACS) Verified Trauma Center.

Prairie St. John’s Celebrates Construction Milestone of New Facility

Prairie St. John’s held a beam topping event to commemorate the final beam being placed in the frame of their brand-new behavioral health facility, currently under construction and on schedule to be completed in the third quarter of 2022. Key features of this new facility include a leading-edge 128-bed acute behavioral health hospital, specialized programming, including an Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) suite and physician-led medication-assisted treatment and enhanced and expanded intensive day programs and outpatient care.

River Vista Behavioral Health Hospital: Construction Progresses amid Pandemic

UHS, in collaboration with partner Valley Children’s Healthcare, celebrated the traditional ‘beam topping’ to mark an important milestone in the construction of this highly anticipated behavioral health facility. When fully opened, the new River Vista Behavioral Health will provide a full continuum of inpatient services, including units to serve children and adolescents. Specialty programs for adults with co-occurring behavioral health and substance use issues will be offered to meet the unique needs of this patient population. In addition, the facility will offer robust outpatient programs to address the most prevalent behavioral health concerns, including child, adolescent and family counseling; and treatment for depression, anxiety disorders and other common behavioral health issues. The new River Vista Behavioral Health hospital, located in Madera, California is on track to open in early 2023.

South Texas Health System Edinburg Commemorates Structural Completion of New Five-Story Patient Tower

During a socially distanced ceremony held on Thursday, October 7, to celebrate the construction milestone, South Texas Health System Edinburg leaders and staff were joined by members of the construction team, as well as city officials, to witness the beam being raised to the topmost part of the tower. The beam, adorned with a palm tree, the American flag and an STHS flag, was signed by hospital employees, local physicians, the construction workers on the project and community members in the days leading up to the beam raising. The patient tower will add 59 new beds, a new Emergency Department, expanded radiology services and will increase the capacity of the existing facility’s Intensive Care Unit and Inpatient Rehabilitation.

Granite Hills Hospital Celebrates its Completion with Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

This fall, Granite Hills Hospital, a 120-bed behavioral health facility that will offer high-quality inpatient and outpatient care, will open its doors and begin serving the greater Milwaukee community. The facility will initially offer services for adults and will add further services in a phased approach over the coming months. With a wide range of treatment options for patients, the mission of Granite Hills Hospital is to provide outcome-focused behavioral healthcare for those in need. When fully operational in 2022, the new facility will feature a variety of services from a multi-faceted team of professionals.

Now Open: The Heritage Oaks Patient Enrichment Center (HOPE Center)

The new Heritage Oaks Patient Enrichment Center (HOPE Center) is a stand-alone 16-bed psychiatric health facility located in Sacramento County that is driven by the mission of providing mindful and caring services to our community members experiencing a behavioral health crisis. Available 24/7, the new facility serves individuals 18 and older. Referrals to the HOPE Center are authorized through the Sacramento County Mental Health Treatment Center.

Henderson Hospital Adds 69 Adult Inpatient Beds Through Patient Care Tower Expansion

The team at Henderson Hospital added an additional 69 adult medical-surgical inpatient beds in August as it opened its new six-story tower, increasing its licensed bed count from 170 to 239. A 33-bed medical-surgical patient care unit opened August 12, 2021, with another 36-bed patient care unit approved by the State of Nevada on August 25, 2021. The latter allowed hospital staff to immediately begin relocating patients from the Observation Unit, adjacent to the Emergency Department, to the new unit. The relocation of the Observation unit increased the Emergency department bed capacity by 25, for a total of 52 ER beds. ER beds are not included in licensed bed counts.

Palmdale Regional Medical Center Opens The Birth Place

Palmdale Regional Medical Center’s new Labor & Delivery unit — The Birth Place — is now open! The Birth Place is the first new Labor & Delivery unit in a Palmdale hospital in over 40 years. The Birth Place offers all private labor, delivery and recovery suites, two surgical suites, easy drop-off and parking … and more. The Birth Place will provide new moms with a comfortable, homelike setting, along with advanced technology and a skilled staff. The unit’s family-centered environment was designed to enable moms and partners to spend as much time as possible with the new baby before leaving the hospital.

Valley Health Specialty Hospital Opens for Patient Care

Valley Health Specialty Hospital, an extension of Spring Valley Hospital, recently opened for orthopedic surgical patients. The hospital features five surgical suites and a 10-bed inpatient nursing unit for postoperative orthopedic patients; a 56-bed acute rehabilitation center and outpatient services for physical, occupational and speech therapy services for adults will open later.

Valley Health System Acquires Elite Medical Center Las Vegas

The Valley Health System recently announced the acquisition of Elite Medical Center Las Vegas, a privately owned micro-hospital offering emergency and inpatient care in the heart of the Las Vegas Strip. The facility’s new, official name is Elite Medical Center, an Extension of Valley Hospital. Elite Medical Center will continue to operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Elite Medical Center offers emergency care, imaging (radiology) services, laboratory services, and COVID-19 testing for employees returning to work or travelers who need testing before returning home or to their next destination. A 22-bed inpatient medical/surgical unit accommodates low-acuity overnight stays, eliminating the necessity for transfer of patients whose conditions meet criteria.
